Arepo, Ogun State — In a significant move toward grassroots empowerment and community advancement, Chief Rahmat Otsomosi Oviesa has been re-elected as the Vice Chairman of the Arepo Area Community Development Committee (AACDC).
The election, held at the Arepo Palace, marks another milestone in her longstanding commitment to community service and development.
Chief Oviesa, who holds four chieftaincy titles across Lagos and Ogun states and also previously served as the maiden Woman Leader in the community, is making her return as the AACDC vice chairman.
Chief Oviesa has expressed deep appreciation for the trust reposed in her by the community and other stakeholders at Arepo.
She said:
“I feel elated because it shows that my impact is being felt and appreciated in my immediate environment. As a grassroots person, this recognition means a great deal.”
She emphasized a strong desire to work collaboratively with fellow executive members to bring meaningful change to the Arepo community.
She highlighted the need for increased government presence, particularly through developmental projects that address key infrastructural challenges.
“Our internal roads are in dire need of attention,” she stated. “We also need a functional health centre and a public secondary school. These are not luxuries—they are essentials for the growth and well-being of our people.”
She also spoke passionately about her commitment to unifying the various contending groups within the community.
“A stable, productive, and robust tenure can only be achieved through unity. I will make every effort to bring all voices together under a common goal—progress for Arepo.”
