The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected Asiwaju Bolarinwa Oluwole as its candidate for the upcoming Remo Federal Constituency bye-election, which is scheduled to hold on August 16, 2025.
The party’s primary election took place at the LBC Event Center in Sagamu, attracting party delegates and observers. The process was conducted under the supervision of officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), ensuring transparency and adherence to electoral guidelines.
Oluwole secured a total of 88 votes to defeat his only challenger, Adesola Jamiu Oyenuga, popularly known as Jasper, who received 18 votes. One vote was declared invalid during the counting process.
The Remo Federal Constituency, which comprises Ikenne, Remo North, and Sagamu Local Government Areas, is regarded as a politically strategic area in Ogun State. The seat became vacant following recent political realignments, prompting INEC to declare a bye-election to fill the position.
Following his victory, Oluwole expressed appreciation to party members and delegates for their confidence in his candidacy. He pledged to run a campaign focused on development, promising to address the key needs of the constituency.
